“Wag the Dog” is a political satire film released in 1997. The plot revolves around a spin doctor named Conrad Brean and a Hollywood producer Stanley Motss who join forces to distract the public from a presidential scandal.

In 1988, businessman Oh Dae-su was arrested for public drunkenness, causing him to miss his daughter’s fourth birthday. After his friend Joo-hwan picks him up from the police station, Dae-su is kidnapped and awakens in a sealed hotel room, where food is delivered through a pet door. Dae-su learns that his wife has been murdered and that he has been framed as the prime suspect by his captors. As years of imprisonment pass, Dae-su grows deranged from solitude. He attempts suicide by slashing his wrists, but is kept alive by his captors. After this, Dae-su spends years practising martial arts against the solid wall and attempting to dig an escape tunnel so that he might seek vengeance upon his captors.

The film stars Shin Ha-kyun as Ryu, a young, deaf-mute factory worker trying to earn enough money for his sister’s kidney transplant.

Ryu’s sister is in desperate need of a kidney transplant, but Ryu’s blood type is not compatible with hers. After he loses his job, Ryu contacts a group of black-market organ dealers. The dealers disappear after taking Ryu’s kidney and severance money. A legitimate kidney donor is found, but Ryu is unable to afford the operation.

To raise money, Ryu’s radical anarchist girlfriend, Yeong-mi, suggests kidnapping the daughter of the executive who fired Ryu. They decide to kidnap Dong-jin’s young daughter Yu-sun. However, a tragedy happens, generating revenge and a series of acts of violence.

In 1902, British aristocrat Orlando, Duke of Oxford, his wife Emily, and their young son Conrad visit a concentration camp in South Africa while working for the British Red Cross. Emily is mortally wounded during a Boer sniper attack on the camp. Before dying, she makes Orlando promise never to let their son see war again.

In Apartheid South Africa, white boy Rhino Labuschagne and Zulu Mashebela were best friends until Rhino, pressured by his American girlfriend, Rowena, shoots a can off Zulu’s head, abruptly ending their friendship. 25 years later, Zulu has become a car thief in New York, picking up an American accent but not forgetting his roots as “the champion mud slinger of the world”. The prison’s warden gets Zulu deported back to Africa by the Threatened Immigrants Right-wing Defence, or TIRD.

When Michelle witnesses the murder of a prominent businessman, the authorities call for the services of Allan, a bodyguard in Beijing, to protect her from the killers.

The plot revolves around Hanky Pranky (alias Schucks), the star of a candid camera TV show, who loses his job due to affirmative action and applies for a job at a stress academy. It’s not long before Schucks discovers that his boss, Jack Paddaman, is morally crooked. However, it’s too late as the employment contract is already signed and sealed.
